About Us

In 2002, Dan Smith, a fourth generation descendant of Daniel and Catherine White, along with his wife Tina, returned to the ancestral farm. For thirty years the land had called and we could no longer stay away. Cypress Bend Vineyards officially opened its doors in late June of 2005. After four years of cultivating thirty acres of muscadine variety grapes, Dan and Tina Smith decided to share their passion for these grapes with the public.

Things To Do

Lumber River State Park

On a national wild and scenic river, Lumber River State Park is all about eastern North Carolina paddling, fishing and exquisite scenery. The Princess Ann and Chalk Banks access areas anchor two ends of the riverine park, with tent-friendly campgrounds, group campsites, picnic grounds and short hiking trails at both. Enjoy kayaking and canoeing when weather permits..

Scotland County Golf

Deercroft Gold and Country Club in Wagram, for example, has been described by Golf Digest as “the best kept secret in the Sandhills.” Moving south to Laurinburg, one finds the Cypress Creek Golf Links, with 18 holes spread over 6.570 yards. Close at hand is the Donald Ross layout at Scotch Meadows, which has drawn admirers since it opened in 1938.
